Fruit Diet for Weight Loss: Plan, Detox, Recipes and Steve Jobs Diet

What is the all fruit diet?

Many have heard of the system called “fruitarian.” It is an interesting system, but what does it really mean to be fruitarian? What would you have to eat and how would you put together your diet? What effects does it have on your body? Does the fruitarian diet make you lose weight? Is it a healthy and effective diet to follow? Similarly to veganism, there is not just one way to do it. As the holistic nutritionist Kelly LeVeque explains it, the fruitarian diet is nothing more than a version of veganism where people only pick fruits as the food to eat in its natural form. So,this diet will allow you to eat fruits and also other food options like foods with seeds such as avocado, tomato, cucumber and olive. Fruits and seeds are also allowed . On the other hand, wheat and cooked or processed foods are forbidden. You will no longer have to worry about all the existing recipes out there, like for the whole 30 diet plan.

As science explains it, there is no official definition of a fruitarian diet. It depends on every person in a case-by-case way. But, in general, you can consider yourself as a fruitarian if you eat at least 50% -75% of your daily calories in the form of fruits. This does not mean that if you eat a ton of fruit in the evening, you can eat whatever you want during the day. Some variation within the diet could be allowed as long as you avoid animal proteins and eliminate any processed foods (such as bars and packaged foods; thumbs up for fresh and raw foods). So what does a fruitarian eat? It is surely not similar to the food lovers diet sample menu.

What is the fruit only diet and does it work?

In the fruitarian diet, you can eat whenever you are hungry and without counting the calories, therefore paying only attention to the type of fruit chosen. Fruit already contains an extraordinary amount of water, so unlike other diets, you should not take 1.5 or 2 liters a day, but much less. Should you follow a fruitarian diet? Apparently, no. The advantages of the fruitarian diet do not outweigh the contraindications such as the lack of amino acids, omega-3&6, and an increase in fructose metabolism, which operates like a progressive malfunctioning of blood sugar regulation. According to the scientist LeVeque, in fact, the recommended dose of fruit a day does not exceed two portions. And in the long run it is better to avoid this type of diet, and choose a vegetarian or vegan approach – remembering to include all the nutrients in your diet (but also avoiding meat or animal products). With a balanced diet, you can also add the principles of fruitarianism so as to introduce fresh fruit and untreated food that can only benefit your health. For those who might end up with diarrhea from eating high fibers food, you can take a look at the Brat diet recipes.

An example? Instead of eating a slice of bread with marmalade for breakfast you can try avocado toast with tomatoes. It is perfect and suitable for a healthy approach to diet. You will not have to think of weight loss pills like the Phentermine diet pills.

What do fruitarians eat?

Fruitarians, who are also considered to undergo some kind of detox, can choose from seven main groups of raw fruits:

  • acid fruits: such as citrus fruits, pineapples, strawberries, pomegranates, kiwis, blueberries, and apples;
  • fruits with low acidic component: such as sweet apples, cherries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, peaches, pears, papaya, figs, apricots, and mango;
  • sweet fruits: bananas, grapes, melons, and persimmons;
  • peanuts: pecans, almonds, cashews, macadamia nuts, pistachios, pine nuts, hazelnuts;
  • seeds: sunflower, sesame, pumpkin, and zucchini;
  • dried fruit: dates, figs, prunes and more;
  • fatty fruits: avocados, coconuts, and olives.

The fruitarian expert David Wolfe believes that it is better to pick one kind of fruit at a time, after which you will need to wait 45 minutes before taking another kind of fruit. The Fruitarian Foundation does recommend that you wait more than 45 minutes, at least 90 minutes, between the various types of fruit. If a person still feels hungry after eating fruit, he should continue to take more of the same kind until he is satisfied. Feel free to check other diets like the Yes You Can diet plan reviews.

The risks of the fruitarian diet

Most people who try to follow this diet give up soon because it is really difficult to be constant, because of the extreme rigidity of the menu. There are various adverse effects of following a fruitarian diet, which includes an obsession with food, possible social isolation, psychological problems and often a strong sense of hunger. In any case, there are many risks to your health: fruitarianism is more restrictive than the already limited veganism and even further increases the chances of nutritional deficiencies. According to the Columbia University Health Promotion Program, a fruitarian diet has a lack of calcium, protein, iron, zinc, vitamin D, vitamin B and essential fatty acids. For those bothered by their reflux, you can take a look at the GERD diet menu.

For this reason, those who are determined to follow this type of high fruit diet could opt for 50% of fruitarian diet and 50% of more traditional food, to introduce the necessary nutrients to the proper functioning of the organism. The fruitarian diet is absolute to be avoided when it comes to children.

Fruit diet plan: an example

Here we have an example of fruit only diet for two days. Also, remember to follow a nutritionist and be careful with these type of diets.

Day 1:

  • Breakfast: A big smoothie with three bananas, blueberries, dates and about a cup of coconut milk
  • Snack: A handful of dehydrated peaches
  • Lunch: Two large bowls of fruit salad consisting of bananas, grapes, and berries (with the addition of a vitamin B12 supplement)
  • Snack: A handful of dried figs
  • Dinner: A large bowl of chopped avocado, cucumber, and tomato, seasoned with little olive oil, lemon, salt and pepper
  • Snack: A bag of raw almonds

Day 2:

  • Breakfast: the juice of three or four lemons immediately after waking up, a few raisins and a bit of melon;
  • Snack: apples, pineapples, figs, pears, grapes, yellow plums, kiwi, and cucumber, in free quantities;
  • Lunch: oranges or mandarins, peaches, apricots and papayas in the desired quantities;
  • Snack: mango, cherries, strawberries, plums, persimmons, pomegranates, watermelons, and tomatoes, always of the desired amount;
  • Dinner: grapes, blackberries, and raspberries;
  • Snack: mango, cherries, strawberries, red plums, persimmons, pomegranates, watermelons, and tomatoes.

As you can see, you will do not have anything to do with calories, and it is very likely that by following this type of diet you will not feel hungry, indeed. Even with the time factor, the fruitarian diet has great advantages, it does not provide complicated preparations, and the stove is always off. However, it does not allow large variations on the meals, and there is a risk to being very repetitive, moreover, as almost all very restrictive diets limits sociality. In fact, you will hardly be able to participate in social events like than going out to dinner with friends without falling into temptation; not because you have no willpower but because you will not find what you can eat on the menu. Fruit and vegetable smoothies

Vegetable smoothie:

Take some green leafy vegetables and vegetables such as carrots (previously boiled and left to cool) that will become part of a vitamin-rich shake. Add according to your tastes in the mixer: cabbage and spinach leaves, carrots, banana slices, Greek yogurt (for a source of calcium) or soy yogurt and orange juice enough to get the desired consistency for this drink.

Avocado and basil smoothie:

Blend the pulp of ripe avocado and four fresh basil leaves with a glass of rice milk, with a small spoon of lemon juice and a small spoon of brown cane sugar. Feel free to add some ice cubes if you want to get a refreshing drink.

Strawberry smoothie:

It is the most classic of smoothies and will be even tastier if you can use strawberries coming directly from your garden or enrich it with freshly picked wild strawberries. Blend your strawberries, accompanying everything with water and ice cubes, to be added until the desired consistency is obtained. Add lemon juice and sweeten to taste. This smoothie is not a recommendation of the Atkins diet.

Spinach smoothie:

Spinach smoothie is a simple way to enrich your diet with vegetables. Add a handful of fresh spinach leaves; a banana cut into slices; four pitted dates and a glass of vegetable milk in the blender. Bananas should give the smoothie an excellent sweet taste, which will allow you to avoid adding sugar. Banana are excellent fruits for weight loss.

Steve jobs fruit diet

His best diet fruit choices became very specific after reading the book Arnold Ehret’s The System of Healing Without the Mucus, a book that is still on sale. According to Ehret, some foods produce mucus harmful to the body and for this reason, by eating certain foods, the production of that fluid is avoided. You may want to try the 7-day fruit diet.

After reading that text, Steve Jobs eliminated any cereal, rice, bread, and milk. For a few weeks, he also ate only apples alternating with days of complete fasting. It is likely that the fruitarian diet adopted by Kutcher, however, is the classic version.

It outlines to eat only one type of fruit a day 3 or 4 times a day and avoid everything else. Some types of vegetables like pumpkin, zucchini, tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers are also allowed. Some people are convinced that this diet is used to purify the body and prevents the contracting of diseases typical of meat.

Everyone is free to believe in what he wants. There are also people who believe in chemtrails and things like that. The truth, however, is that a diet that only provides fruit leads to a lack of calcium, protein, iron, zinc, vitamin D, and B12, all things that are usually integrated with synthetic supplements. For other celebrities diets, you can take a look at the Chris Pratt weight loss diet.

At the moment no studies are linking this type of nutrition with diseases, even if a lack of essential elements for life could lead to the weakening of the organism and, therefore, favor the onset of diseases.
